Rapid City Man Sentenced for Escape

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Rapid City man charged with Escape from Custody was sentenced on November 26, 2012, by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken. Phillip Young Hawk, age 34, was sentenced to 21 months' imprisonment and ordered to pay $100 to the Victim Assistance Fund. In April 2012, Young Hawk left Community Alternatives of the Black Hills, where he was serving part of a federal sentence, to go to work and did not return. He pled guilty on August 3, 2012. This case was investigated by the U.S. Marshal’s Service. Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Kelderman prosecuted the case. Young Hawk was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal. |
